City of Detroit Landmark Enchants Guests with Dazzling Theater Productions

City of Detroit Landmark Enchants Guests with Dazzling Theater Productions

Envisioned by the Fisher Brothers as “the most beautiful building in the world,” the Fisher Building in Detroit was designed by Albert Kahn in the early 1920s. The seven brothers were sons of Lawrence Fisher, Sr., a Ohio carriage maker. Coming to Detroit, the brothers founded Fisher Body Company, which eventually was bought out by General Motors. Their aim was to create a building in Detroit that would express the Fishers’ appreciation of their new hometown.

When completed, the Fisher Building interior included a variety of marble from places such as France, Germany, Italy, and Greece. A barrel vaulted ceiling was decorated with cherubs and eagles. Along the building’s arcade, visitors are met with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and in panels along the walls. Between 500 to 600 of the chandelier’s lights are replaced at a time. Visitors to the Fisher were greeted by men in white who would park their cars; free babysitting for shoppers, complete with a carousel and nurses; and a lavish lunch in the famed Huyler’s L’Aiglon tea room.

Detroit City Shines with Tinsel-Town Locations

Detroit City Shines with Tinsel-Town Locations

With the filming of blockbusters such as 8 Mile, The Island, and Transformers in local Detroit locations, filmmakers are discovering Detroit is a city rich with extraordinary film location possibilities. From an island park located in the heart of the city to gritty warehouses to a vibrant cultural and entertainment district, Detroit has everything that filmmakers are seeking today to make their next film project a visual success.

According to a January 2008 Detroit Free Press article, Detroit’s birth as a film destination isn’t just about commercial feature films. Producers of music videos, instructional DVDs, advertising, and television shows will work anywhere there’s a tax payoff. Which is why, not surprisingly, a number of movies set in Detroit, including Four Brothers and Assault on Precinct 13 were shot largely in Ontario. Employing a tax-break strategy has allowed Canada to enjoy success in the film industry; provinces are competing with one another to provide filmmakers the best deals. Now, various states have begun developing their own tax-break incentives and proposals.

From Conventions to Family Reunions, Detroit is the Host of Choice

Undergoing the country’s largest urban redevelopment boom, Detroit serves as an exciting and unique destination for groups of all sizes. Redevelopment efforts encompass more than billion in new development under way. The international destination, located only one mile from Windsor, Canada, is also accessible by way of a 90-minute flight for 60 percent of the nation’s population.

Meeting attendees are welcomed at the Detroit Metro Airport, featuring a new two-million-square-foot terminal where international and domestic gates are located in one facility. Here, the brand new 404-room Westin Hotel, connected to the terminal, welcomes guests with superior amenities. In addition, the airport also offers numerous shops, restaurants and services, as well as 90 E-ticket kiosks and parking within walking distance of the new terminal. Northwest Airlines offers discounted airfare for conferences and conventions meeting in Detroit.

Improvements at Detroit Metro Airport have apparently made their impression: In a 2002 J.D. Power & Associates survey of more than 10,000 airline passengers from around the world, Metro Airport tied for second place among the U.S. airports and fourth place internationally.

Britney Spears Concert Ticket Information

Britney Spears Concert Ticket Information

Britney Spears goes all out with a show full of extravagant costume changes, fantastic dance moves and unbelievable acrobats, some that are very revealing which adds to the excitement.

A few fans didn’t appreciate Britney’s lip-synching so many of the songs, but others came to her defense saying they came to see her dance more than anything. Every review I read mentioned her amazing dancing routines. I got the impression that for her fans, just being in her presence is a dream come true. She has the it factor, for sure. It’s nice to see people focusing more on her success rather than the bad stuff from the past.

Tickets for Britney Spears can be pricey for good seats. In my experience, buying from Ebay sellers gives you more choices and better seats for a lower price. I like that I can communicate to the seller before making a purchase and there’s customer feedback that tells a lot about the sellers customer service history. Ticket prices for Britney Spears tickets are ranging and up.  Here you can find your best Britney Spears tickets from trusted sellers on Ebay: Best Deals on Britney Spears Concert Tickets
